Class Description
Preliminary
An introduction to Iyengar yoga suitable for every level of ability, age and physical condition. For those, treading gently or freshly on the path of yoga who wish to learn or reaquaint themselves with the basic asanas (postures) and principles of Iyengar Yoga.
Beginner Classes
For newcomers to learn and experience a variety of asanas (postures) to improve the body structure, lubricate the joints, to give freedom of movement, to improve posture and to stretch and strengthen the ligaments and muscles.
General Classes
For non – beginners who have developed a firm interest in yoga and a desire to gain further knowledge. These classes introduce a wider range of asanas (postures), helping to improve the functionality of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and hormonal systems, also bringing emotional stability and clarity of mind.
Intermediate Classes
For those who have an understanding of one's body, mind and breath and understand that yoga is a process to look into oneself, recognizing that every action has it's effect somewhere . These classes introduce a more complex and demanding range of postures.
Teacher Classes
Strictly for Certified teachers of Iyengar yoga.
Restorative Yoga Classes
A class to learn how to place each part of the body correctly (with the use of props) to allow the body and mind to soak in the asana (posture) to reenergise, rejuvenate and regenerate.
Pranayama Yoga Classes
Awareness of the breath and breathing is essential in the continuing journey of yoga Learning to observe the breaths in order to feel them, is an essential requirement of Pranayama and should only be attempted after a certain degree of proficiency in the yoga asanas has been attained Each breath activates and deactivates the central nervous system into stimulating the peripheral nerves.
Kurunta Yoga Classes
The practice of yoga asanas (postures) with the aid of wall ropes, which can be used to stretch, strengthen and open specific areas of the body, along with creating a greater awareness of precision and alignment in the asanas.
